Marketing isn’t just posting
Many businesses undervalue marketing because they judge it by what’s easy to count. How many posts will you make? How many followers will we get? Can you make a reel go viral? Why should we spend money on ads?
Those questions treat marketing as a list of deliverables. It’s a system.
Start with the business objective
Before a single post is made, ask what the business actually wants. It might be awareness, leads, sales, store visits, app downloads, website traffic, repositioning, entering a new market or keeping the customers you have.
Each of those needs different creative, different channels and different numbers to judge it by. So the first question isn’t “what should we post?” It’s “what business problem are we solving?” One objective. One clear plan.
Marketing is a growth system
Every campaign runs through five links, and each one feeds the next:
- Strategy: who you’re talking to, and why they should care.
- Creative: the work people actually see.
- Distribution: organic and paid, on the platforms your customers use.
- Leads and sales: where interest turns into money.
- Measurement: what worked, so the next round works better.
Strong creative with no distribution goes unseen. Great ads with no plan for the leads go nowhere.

From awareness to action
So don’t think “we need 10 Instagram posts.” Think “we need a campaign that moves people from awareness to action.” Then every post has a job.

- Interest
- Action
